Cole is quite active and has been supportive of numerous social and charitable initiatives and organizations. He and his company are involved with fundraising for and education around AIDS research and awareness, homelessness issues, Mentoring USA, amfAR, LGBTQ rights, Rock the Vote and helping victims of natural disasters such as hurricane Katrina and Super Storm Sandy.
He owned a boutique in Beverly Hills, California from 1942 until 1952 and there were retrospective exhibitions of his work shown at the Los Angeles County Museum, circa 1967 and the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, 1971.
